Studios and Engineers – ‘Just for Fun’

We used two studios for recording ‘Just for Fun’.

James McLaughlin’s Studio

James McLaughlin cut his teeth with sound engineering in London at Stanley House recording studio. In 2001, he moved to Charlottesville, Va and opened his own studio. James has a great ear, is uber efficient, professional, and we’ve never seen faster on the fly editing done in our lives!  He also gave helpful feedback on arrangements and showed us lots of cool tips and tricks for using Logic Pro (a recording software).

Matt Wyatt

Matt Wyatt

Matt Wyatt has a sweet little spot out in Free Union, Va. His studio is situated on a beautiful farm. He’s a deep listener and likes to do field recordings. The birds on ‘O Dia’ are from his sample library. He also helped Madeline get over her perfectionist voice teacher ‘gotta fill every tone’ vibe to allow one song to have a more relaxed and natural feel 🙂 Matt played drums for the CD Release parties in February.

Aldemir Cameroun created the remix for ‘Marinheiro So’ from his studio in Salvador, Bahia Brazil. He has a heightened attention to detail and added percussive and harmonic elements that give it a cool Latin Lounge feel. He also happens to be an amazing electric guitar player and good friend.
